Upon arrival, check into your lodge and take a moment to unwind. In the afternoon, venture out to the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This community-run conservation area is teeming with life—keep an eye out for colorful birds like the Great Blue Turaco and playful primates such as red colobus monkeys. Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center for an exciting start to your chimpanzee trekking adventure. At 8:00 AM, you’ll receive a briefing before joining a small group (maximum of 8 people) led by expert Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Trek through the lush rainforest for 2–3 hours as you track a habituated chimpanzee troop—there’s a 95%+ chance of finding them! Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing the chimps in their natural habitat—watch them groom each other, forage for food, swing through the trees, or just playfully interact. After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-earned lunch and a bit of relaxation. In the afternoon, you can opt for a guided forest walk to discover more primates like the black-and-white colobus or L’Hoest’s monkey. Or simply unwind at your lodge and take in the stunning views of the Ndali-Kasenda crater lakes.
